Turquoise Cast Glass Sea Shell
The North Shore Shell | One-of-a-Kind Lost Wax Cast Glass
Capture the raw, luminous energy of the Pacific with this exquisite hand-sculpted masterpiece. Inspired by the legendary turquoise barrels of Hawaii’s North Shore, this sculpture is not merely an object, but a vessel for light and tide.
Artisanship & Technique
Crafted using the ancient and complex lost wax (cire perdue) casting process, this piece is a true "one of one." A unique wax model was hand-carved and encased in a refractory mold; the wax was then melted away and replaced with molten glass. Because the mold must be broken to reveal the sculpture, the intricate textures and organic geometry of this shell can never be replicated.
Key Features
• Vibrant Hawaiian Palette: A gradient of deep electric teal and sun-drenched turquoise that mimics the clarity of the North Shore’s reef-breaks.
• Organic Detail: Every ridge and spiral is rendered with high-definition precision, highlighting the natural architectural genius of the sea.
• Light-Interacting Core: The varying thickness of the cast glass creates a "glow from within," shifting in intensity as the ambient light changes throughout the day.
• Hand-Finished Texture: Expertly polished to a brilliant luster that evokes the look of a shell freshly pulled from a receding wave.
